Row sixteen begins with the headstone for Mrs. John Conant (1738) and the one for Mrs. Lydia Lefavour (1793) and her four children. After a small gap is the footstone for Mrs. J. Porter. Next is a large gap, and the remainder of the row is set back, beginning with the stone for Richard Reith Senior (1707/8). The next four stones are side by side: Mrs. Mary Dixey (1757), John Tawley (1736) and Thomas Tawley (1737), Mrs. Jane Tedder (1781), and Mr. William Seal (1797). The last stone, for Mr. Samuel Nicholson (1724), is set further back.
The Tawley stone is noteworthy for its symbolism, and the poem on the William Seal stone was a popular verse that had several variations. |
